TO THIS:
We have three versions of our 911 oil temp overlays, for the most popular models. Find out how to select the right one below. Our overlays are screened onto polycarbonate and die-cut for a perfect fit every time. We also have an adhesive backing for permanant mounting to your existing face.
STYLE A: Identified by the "short" red zone. Degreese celcius are called out on the periphery as 30, 60, 150, 170 |
STYLE B: Identified by the 3 white hash marks and seperate red zone. 60, 90, 120 amd 150 are called out on the periphery |
STYLE C: Identified by the large red zone. 60, 90, 150 and 170 degreese celcius on the edge |
IDENTIFY YOUR GAUGE:
Along with the above images, confirm your choice by looking into the gauge to see the numbers on the edge.
REMOVE AND DISASSEMBLE:
Carefully remove the gauge from your dash, LABEL THE WIRES and place on a working surface.
Remove the screw that hold the module in place
REMOVE THE MODULE:
Remove by rotating up and out. I like to use the gauge for a working area, just place the module in the hole upside down. You can secure it with two screws for ease in handling
CHECK FITMENT:
Remove one screw, place overlay on as shown, re-install screw lightly and rotate into position and insert other screw. Lightly tighten.
CHECK CLEARANCE AND MOVEMENT:
Make sure there is clearance to the new face. it is only .015 in. thick, but sometime the pointers are bent down. You can gently bend the pointer up if needed, they are easy to bend.
SELF-ADHESIVE BACKING:
At this time you may opt to add the self-adhesive backing. The new overlay should stay in place without it.
That's it. Installation is the reverse of removal. While you are at it, why not add a PSI overlay to your oil pressure gauge for a complete look.

Fits perfectly, easy installation...
Easy to install, looks OEM, and much cheaper than buying a new gauge and sender. Was a little skeptical that it would look as good as it does, but took a chance for under $30, and wasn't disappointed.

Very nice product
The fit is perfect, and installation is very straight forward. Be sure to label your wires; there are more than expected on the back. Work slowly and carefully. The finish is quite close to the original, but not exact. The numbers don't quite match my gauge, as it had the following numbers: 50, 66, 109.5, 129, and 144, so I chose B, and I think it will be close enough. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the black finish is a bit more dull than the original, and the numbers didn't quite match. Otherwise, it is much, much better than the white lines leaving you no idea what temp the engine oil is.
